With Coach in a BOX – Discovery, 14 key traits of the team are analyzed. These have been selected on the basis of current team psychology and provide information about good teamwork. They form the starting point of the team analysis and are used to derive the team process capability (Mediators).
In team psychology, team Mediators describe all processes that take place in a team. The team traits (called Moderators) influence these Mediators (processes). They can worsen these processes (for example, due to a lack of coordination skills/tools in larger teams) or improve them (for example, by promoting performance in the team through good recognition processes).
There are three main categories of mediators: ABC mediators.
Affect (A) which summarizes all processes related to team cohesion. Behavior (B) which describes all processes associated with the activities of the team. Finally, Cognition (C) which combines all processes related to the thinking or knowledge of the team.
We distinguish between six different team types. The first letter always indicates the most pronounced mediator of the team. In principle, there are always two teams per mediator axis: Affect-Behavior, Behavior-Cognition, and Cognition-Affect.
